We’ve hit downtown Chicago a couple times since being home.  Crazy how at home I feel when I see that big black skyscrapper from afar on the expressway.

The place I may never visit again, but would never trade in the time we spent here.  Living in the city was the experience I’ll cherish.  Living in the house made the trip.  It was 100+ years old with authentic colors and construction which I’ll remember forever.  Creaking wood floors, slanted stairs and beautiful doors…

Oh, Quito.  What can I say about it?  High up, dirty, crowded, rainy and probably our most “unfavorite” place we’ve visited.  With that being said, we made the best of it, and it once again showed us how incredibly lucky we are living in the US, with all of our blessings.

We escaped Europe for awhile to jump the Med, and land in Africa.  It was incredible to have such a change in scenery, culture and people with such a short trip.  The kids really loved it, which makes mom and dad happy!

Marbella might have been the best location, but this was the best house.  Out of my 2nd floor office I had mountains to the north and Mediterranean to the south.  We were perched up on top of a mountain, nice and isolated, just the way I like it.  We were surrounded by fruit farms, and…
